Taste: Dark ruby colour, fruity with notes of black cherry and black berries. Ample, complex, round and velvety on the palate. Ready to drink or to keep up to 10 years. Pairing is incredibly versatile. Would elevate a juicy rack of Irish lamb, Grilled beef as well as in stew, Red Tuna steak in a rich tomato and pepper sauce, Cashel blue cheese or Goat blue cheese from Slane.

Irouleguy is a rather discreet vineyard situated in Pays Basque, but worth discovering. Tucked between Pyrénées Mountains and the Gulf of Viscay, it benefits from oceanic and alpine influences. Pays Basque spreads on both side of the French-spanish border and is full of character, with a strong culture and is for me, a culinary heaven. It surely transpires in this wine.
